M/V Teen – Crane Jib Damage Repair

DESCRIPTION:
The No.4 crane jib was detached from top end because of defective jib end bearings and caused the crane jib lowered down to standing hatch cover and damaged, port side around 2m and stbd side around 7m were found deformed/damaged with the material of high tensile steel plate. Meanwhile, the crane top housing was also knocked/damaged by jib transverse box girder.

We made the bed platform by angle bar on main deck and dismantled all wires then lifted the damaged jib by ship's No.3 crane on platform, cropped and renewed damaged sections including transverse box girders of crane jib as per class approved technical procedure.

After completion of the renewal, checked the alignment of crane jib in order. Meanwhile, the damaged crane housing was repaired and inside hydraulic pipeline and electrical equipments were repaired well, then we used ship's No.3 crane and lifted No.4 crane jib in position.
